Winery/Vineyard in Laguedoc, France
This vineyard/winery is nestled in southern France’s picturesque countryside, in a region well-known for its superb agriculture. Languedoc’s most famous agricultural product is, by far, its excellent wine grapes. The area grows more than one third of France’s wine grapes, making it a significant focus for international investors interested in high-quality wine. Within the region, this property is located outside of a well-beloved tourist destination just 40 minutes from Monpellier’s international airport. This brings many guests to the winery to sample and buy local products.
In addition to its stellar location, this winery is both charming and historic. The 19th century wine chateau was beautifully built and maintained, and is an impressive space to welcome family, friends, and customers. The three-floor home was built in the 1830s and has been lovingly maintained in great condition. The home is spacious, with 1,300 square meters (13,993 square feet) of living space. The chateau features 20 rooms, 10 of which are bedrooms, as well as a sauna area with a parental suite. Outside the magnificent chateau, a large swimming pool can be enjoyed while looking out over the garden’s ancient cedar trees.
The vineyard property is over 100 hectares (247.1 acres) and produces high volumes of exquisite wine grapes. The grape varieties were updated within the last few years to better feature the property’s unique terroirs. The large property extends over three microclimates, which allows different areas to specialize in different grape varieties that will thrive there. Currently, there is an irrigation system installed that partially covers the vineyard. About 68 hectares (168 acres) of the established vines are within wine areas with well-known designations, the AOP Languedoc and the IGP Pays d’Oc, which increases the value of the grapes. On average, the vineyard yields 40 hectoliters of wine per hectare.
